The sleeping giant was awoken and the renovation and restoration project began. In the first year most of my time and resources were spent reclaiming growing areas and improving the infrastructure of the garden, putting in drainage, paths, beds and an awful lot of clearance and weeding. However, even in that first summer the fruit and vegetable areas and polytunnels were put into some production. It is from now, the spring of 2017 that we can really start to discover what’s possible.
My aim is to provide visitors to the estate high quality local, seasonal and fresh fruit and vegetables for sale produced in an environmentally sensitive way, whilst also continuing to develop and restore this fabulous part of the estate.
Please call up to the Kitchen garden during your visit, either to buy some produce or just to look around. I would be most delighted to welcome you.
