Part of the charm of staying on the estate is the amount of home-grown, seasonal produce available to purchase with the most minimal of food miles as they are within walking distance.

Kitchen Garden: A must visit during your stay, using only the finest seasonal ingredients, you can prepare a variety of dishes from light salads and soups to weekend roasts and vegetable hot pots, all using produce grown in the Kitchen Garden by our talented team of gardeners.

Ardtornish Farm: We have a fantastic selection of beef, lamb, mutton and wild venison. This can be pre-ordered and delivered to your holiday home on the day of your arrival.

Ardtornish Gift Shop: Stocked alongside a wide range of local arts and crafts, we have a great selection of locally sourced jams, chutneys, honey and much more.

Lochaline Stores & Post Office is open daily all year round.

Monday – Saturday: 8.30am – 6pm

Sunday: 11.30am – 2pm

They stock a fantastic range of groceries, household goods, alcohol, and newspapers. They are the location for the village’s 24hr fuel pumps and they also operate a launderette.

They even offer the convenience of a delivery service, so you can relax in the knowledge that your groceries are taken care of before your holiday starts.

The post office facility is open Monday-Friday and Saturday morning for all post office services including cash withdrawals.

Explore Like a Local


Their club base is at the pontoons, adjacent to the Quartz sand mine. The site has been extensively developed by volunteers since December 2015. Their weekly sailing days are great community events with children & parents all joining in together & enjoying what the loch has to offer. On non sailing days it is the perfect spot for the bucket and spade brigade. Events and details of future sailing meets can be found on their Facebook page or enquire at Lochaline Harbour office.


The Morvern Community Woodlands Company was started by local volunteers in 2002 to bring local woodlands back into management for community benefit. A recommended area to explore with access directly onto the shore line and Savary beach, visit their Facebook page for details of events throughout the year.


If you’re up for an adventure, take a trip to Drimnin and visit them. The distillery is open to visitors once a day during the working week: take a look behind the scenes as they create their future whisky, taste the evolving spirit and try a cocktail in their bar.

Local folklore tells that wishes were said to be granted at the Wishing Stone if you filled your mouth with water from the local spring and passed through the stone three times without touching the sides or swallowing the water. The Wishing Stone is situated approximately 5 miles from Lochaline Village down the Drimnin road.

Park by Kiel Church and head towards the small stone building (Old Session House) at the far side of the church. Free entry.


Situated in the heart of Ardtornish Estate, this venue is open to the public and is a place where visitors can view and purchase the work from the Rahoy hills resident Artists. The reserve is an inspiring place for a walk with magnificent hills and wild woodlands.


There is no better location than the West Pier situated in Lochaline. A great spot for anglers to catch mackerel, pollack, sea trout and wrasse.

Please note that this is a working pier and also a well-known area for dive training.
