Ardtornish House is the perfect venue for large family holidays, special celebrations, hosting retreats or residential corporate events.
Positioned a stones throw away from Loch Aline, amongst an expanse of gardens and with a backdrop of rugged mountains, Ardtornish House was designed with entertaining in mind.
Our home-away-from-home Highland venue provides a unique, private, self-catering accommodation for up to 45 guests. The house will be yours to enjoy exclusively and you can spread yourself across the 21 bedrooms, various drawing rooms, spacious corridors and original marble bathrooms with their Victorian rolltop baths, not forgetting the sauna and Snooker Room!
The ground floor is home to the The Great Hall, Drawing Room and Library together with a large sitting/dining room and two accessible bedrooms. These rooms retain many original Victorian features and ooze authentic charm.
First floor of the house comprises a large open plan apartment, centred around a grand staircase and airy landings. Ten bedrooms are serviced by two kitchens, a cosy sitting room, large dining room and a grand sitting room.
On the top floor, guests will find two dog-friendly, self-contained apartments – each with three bedrooms.
Hosting a retreat or event?
The Great Hall is an impressive space and ideal for holding classes, conferences, private dinners, Ceilidh’s and other small events. The house has been hired for yoga retreats, women’s clubs, music retreats, mycology weekends and fashion shoots – the list is endless.
Our fully-equipped commercial kitchen gives you the option to take the stress out of cooking and bring a private chef or caterers with you.
Whilst all suppliers and activities are booked third party, we are happy to share our recommendations. Our Events Manager is always happy to discuss exclusive hire, to make sure that Ardtornish is the right West Highland retreat for you and your family, friends or customers!
Guests to the house often return time and time again, recognising that it is rare to find authenticity at a time when most large properties across Scotland have been modified and modernised – many have been making memories here over several generations.

Your Memories Of Ardtornish
We had a lovely time at Ardtornish Estate at the end of September staying in the garden flat. We enjoyed walks in the beautiful gardens and also to Loch Tearnait where we had lunch in the bothy. The accommodation was grand to say the least and we enjoyed the log fire in the evenings.
This was our home away from home. We were welcomed from the moment we arrived at the ferry and every step along the way. Ardtornish is truly a place of welcome and of feeling completely at home.
The South Wing is the perfect venue for those with a large party of up to 12 wishing to enjoy spacious elegant and extremely comfortable country accommodation. The views are amazing and the property is warm and welcoming with beautiful period furniture.
