A stay in Castle Cottage 2 is an ideal self-catering holiday for wildlife watching in Scotland. The property is positioned where the River Aline meets the Loch and boasts views over the water from the bay windows.
Ardtornish is home to a multitude of wildlife and many of our guests return to stay in Castle Cottage 2 for this very reason. The cottage has a substantial, fully-enclosed garden – an ideal place to sit and watch Greylags, Black-Throated Divers, Sea Eagles, Herons & Otters, who are all regular visitors on Loch Aline. The area is also home to Pine Martens, Badgers, Red Squirrels and Red Deer.
What to expect from this self-catering cottage set in nature
Castle Cottage 2 has a traditional sitting room with a log burner and bay window overlooking the garden and Loch. It’s the perfect space for sitting with a cup of tea at night and waiting for the resident Pine Martens. Guests are provided with a pack of kindling & logs for their stay and more can be purchased at the Gift Shop.
The kitchen is well equipped with a washing machine, fridge, freezer and electric oven with hob and a diner for guests to enjoy their meals when the weather is too cold to sit out. You will find everything you need for a self-catering holiday.
Sleeping 6 people, the bedroom comprise of 1 double room, 1 twin room and 1 room with bunk beds. The bathroom has a full size bath with an electric overhead shower.
As with all of our cottages, there are many walks to enjoy straight from the door. Take a stroll in the woodland surrounding Kinlochaline or step straight out to the track that meanders down the Loch side into the village.
