A good old classic loved by everyone.

Ingredients

  • 500g Ardtornish beef mince

  • 1 diced Ardtornish onion

  • 2 peeled and chopped carrots

  • 1/2 tablespoon of flour

  • 1 cup of beef stock

  • 4 potatoes

  • 100g milk

  • 50g unsalted butter

  • Salt and pepper

  • 1 teaspoon of Worcester sauce

  • Cook: 25 minutes

  • Serves: 4

Method

Peel the potatoes and cut into quarters. Put the potatoes into cold water with a bit of salt and put on a medium heat to boil. Next, on a medium heat, brown the beef with the onions and chopped carrots. Once the beef is cooked then add the flour to the mixture and pour the beef stock over the mixture. You can now add the worcester sauce if you want a bit of a kick. Turn it down to a low heat so it can simmer for 15 – 20 minutes.

Once mince is completely cooked, drain your potatoes with a colander and then place back into the pan and onto a low heat to drain any excess water. Then add in, the unsalted butter, milk and salt and pepper and mash the potatoes until fluffy.
