We are excited to be recruiting for a Full-time hospitality assistant, to join the team of our brand-new Coal Shed Café.

This new business venture will be open seven days a week, promoting an “estate to plate” breakfast and lunch menu designed to celebrate quality, homegrown produce and support local suppliers.

Role Description

You will be the welcoming face of the café, ensuring every guest enjoys a warm, friendly and professional experience. Your duties will include:

  • Greeting customers and taking orders
  • Serving food and beverages
  • Performing kitchen porter duties
  • Maintaining cleanliness and stock levels of the café
  • Sharing knowledge of the café’s “estate to plate” ethos, highlighting fresh, locally sourced ingredients and sustainable practices

The café will operate during the daytime, seven days a week. Your hours will be worked across five days, including both mid-week and weekend hours. We will also host occasional evening events which you will be required to work, all within your contracted hours.

For eight weeks of the year (December & January) the café will close for routine maintenance. During this time, you will join our housekeeping team, performing changeovers on our self-catering properties.

What We’re Looking For

  • Friendly, reliable, punctual and well-presented
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Attention to detail, accuracy in order taking, meeting high standards in presentation & cleanliness
  • Ability to multi-task during peak periods and work well as a team under pressure
  • Flexibility to work across both café and housekeeping roles
  • Good numerical skills, confident handling cash and card transactions
  • Previous experience in hospitality or housekeeping is an advantage, but not essential – training will be provided
