Where will my journey take me?

Ardtornish House is situated on the Morvern peninsula in the West Highlands. Surrounded by rugged mountains, glittering locks, big skies and an abundance of wildlife. The house Has always been a place for gathering, a place to feel at home. Our retreat members have exclusive use of the house. Imagine morning yoga in the great hall and a midnight cacao ceremony in the drawing room around an open fire. We have a mix of twin, double and king Size rooms, all retaining original Victorian features. Bathrooms are shared with fellow retreat goers. The house has a sauna, open for use around the clock and traditional roll Top baths set in marble bathrooms.

Whats on the menu?

Nourishment is an integral part of the retreat experience. We will provide delicious, vegetarian cuisine using locally sourced products. The culinary journey will start with a welcome supper on arrival day and includes breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks for the duration with your last meal before departure on the Wednesday.

A retreat in November! Will it not be cold?

November in the Highlands can be absolutely serene. It’s milder than you would imagine, quiet, there is no risk of midges. Skies are super dark (making it easier to spot the aurora) and the mountains often have their first dusting of snow. The house will be stocked full Of logs and the heating on full! We will have an alternative planned for all retreat activities intended for the outdoors, just incase. November is a time to take a breath – to look inwards and check in with ourselves ahead of what is usually a busy period.

This all sounds great, but I’ve never been to a retreat before

The naturally restorative retreat is designed for everybody. Yes, we aim to restore the body and mind but mostly it is about enjoyment. You don’t need to be flexible, ‘a yogi’ or to have even attempted meditation before, never mind immersing yourself in a river. Each session will be tailored to the group and have everybody’s goals in mind. All group activities are voluntary and you will have plenty of time to explore the area by yourself.

We hope you can join us for this ‘Naturally Restorative’ retreat
