Soon after Richard was appointed…the real work began.

This included, cutting back, weeding and mulching of flower beds, reclaiming, marking out and rotivating 10 new outdoor veg beds. This process took several weeks and included the rather smelly task of transferring 10 tons of ripe manure from the old stable block and included a visit from the lab coats who came to do their official bit and test and analyse the soil for the usual diseases….. So far so good!!

After a brief period of rest, necessary to recover from torn thumb ligaments, momentum was built once again. An area of 5 bays was constructed for compost, manure, seaweed and leaf mulch. The old greenhouses were dismantled to allow for future development and one tired polytunnel taken down whilst another one re skinned breathing new life into it.

I look forward to welcoming you through the new, hand crafted garden gates next year. Come and see the progress for yourselves and fill a basket with seasonal fresh fruit and veg to use throughout your holiday.
