I said last time that I would be sharing tales with you of me and my friend’s adventures. I think the polite thing to do is to introduce you to them first. They each have a unique personality but they are equally bold, brave, loyal and courageous as any self-respectful canine should be.
May is a strikingly attractive Border Collie, her name means Pearl in Scotland. This breed of dog is a silky-coated sheepdog which has a long ruff and narrow head. It gets its name from its early ancestors, dogs developed and bred in the border lands between England and Scotland which were highly prized for their herding abilities. I have witnessed this skill first hand, I recall the day we first met, May mistook me for being a sheep and proceeded to herd me in line with our human companions for the duration of our walk out to Barr.
Bailey is a typical Jack Russell lively and tenacious, it’s easy to see why they were popular as a hunting companion in the Victorian era. Despite its diminutive size, this breed is fearless and curious, with an insatiable appetite for adventure. His boundless energy provides his family with endless hours of entertainment. He is a feisty little fellow and my best pal when it comes to a game of fetch the stick. He may have the body and ability of an athlete to outrun me but, on the odd occasion that I get there first, I certainly have the build to win a game of Tug of war.
