Andrew Raven Ardtornish Woodland Settlement (ARAWS) – Long Term Forest Plan (LTFP)
This Trust owns and manages 438 ha of conifer woodland in six separate plantations within the boundaries of the Ardtornish Estate. The six separate areas were purchased and then planted by Faith Raven in the 1960s and 70s, gifted to her son, Andrew Raven in 1986 and settled by him into the Trust in 2005, shortly before his untimely death.
The Trust’s Long-Term Forest Plan was drawn up in 2010, and has now been revised to cover operations over the next 10 years until 2029. The Trustees have now submitted the revised plan to Scottish Forestry for approval. The plan has been placed on the public register and will be open for public scrutiny and comment for 28 days from 30th October 2020. The plan and supporting documents are available to view by clicking HERE.

In terms of woodland management, it works to its own, already agreed, Long Term Forest Plan covering the management of all the native woodlands on the estate. The Trust continues to work closely with the Ardtornish Estate Company and its staff in all aspects of woodland management and generally for the maximum benefit of the Ardtornish Estate.
