Maintenance Operative

Responsible to: Operations Manager

The role is very varied depending on the time of year and priority of the business so, does need flexibility and willingness to work as part of the team, as well as being motivated to work independently.

Principal Task
• Perform reactive maintenance repairs across our diverse property portfolio and wider business.

• Assist in the implementation of our planned preventative maintenance programme. Including roofs, rainwater goods, internal & external redecoration etc.

• Assist to deliver our planned property improvement programme.

• Observe and maintain Health & Safety standards across the business ensuring all works have the appropriate RAMS.

• Perform routine property compliance checks; PAT, legionnaires etc.

• Conduct routine fire alarm system checks to ensure functionality and respond to fire faults on a rota basis out of normal working hours.

• Monitor maintenance sundries stock levels and report when getting low.

• Keep maintenance logs and report on daily activities.

• Provide assistance to the wider team when setting up for events, etc.

• Ensure your working environment is clean, tidy and well organised.

• Occasional tasks at the discretion of management and any additional ad-hoc duties as the business requires.

• Provide holiday cover for the Energy services maintenance team.

Skills
• Possesses basic skills in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting & decorating as well as an overall good understanding of general property maintenance.

• Physically fit.

• Excellent communication skills.

• Ability to work independently and solve problems.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Knowledge of health and safety regulations.

• Full UK driving license.

The Candidate
We’re looking for someone with maintenance experience to join our growing team.
The ideal candidate will be experienced with the tools of the trade and be a highly motivated self-starter with an eye for detail.

Working conditions
Generally, the hours are Monday to Friday from 8am to 5pm but occasional weekend work may be required.

Based in the West Highlands of Scotland
